I stayed here on 13th Feb before returning to Bangkok and what a wonderful end to two fantastic weeks in Burma. Staff and service were excellent - breakfast was OK even though staff were run off their feet due to a big group there to be served before going to the airport. There was plenty of choice but I was overwhelmed by the array of food! My room was "to die for" - I had the most amazing view of the Pagoda from my 5th floor room. A very comfortable room with all the amenities needed. I would stay in this hotel again.

This hotel is lovely, clean and a hidden gem, it isn't in a busy section of town so is very quiet. It is on a lake and has a great settling with lots of vegetation around. Nice relaxing pool area, with shady trees to sit under if you want to read.

Breakfast buffet had lots of selections. This restaurant is open 24 hours/day. We were told breakfast was at 6:30 but we had to be heading for the airport at 6AM, the staff allowed us to go ahead with the buffet even though everything wasn't out. There was still plenty for us to choice from. Staff are wonderfully friendly.
Free wireless in the lobby plus they have 2 computers for guests to use if they need a computer to use.
I think there was 3 restaurants although we only used the one.

Rooms were clean and comfortable, there are safes in each room.
They gave us each house coats to use for the pool.
We would recomment this hotels to our fiiends.

My wife and I spent three days at this hotel. Our room was very comfortable and quite spacious. The air conditioning worked well. The food at the restaurant from breakfast to dinner was varied and excellent.

Beautiful place located right next to the lake. Great staff, wonderful food and an atmosphere that cannot be beaten.
Other better known places in Yangon have no heart but this has thanks to its incredibly helpful and kind-hearted staff.
We had a great stay and will go back next year.

I am a very frequent business traveler to Myanmar and after having stayed in many hotels I settled for the Kandawggyi Palace. Location is very convenient and it is very good value for money. The staff is very helpful and will always help you out with any request - at a reasonable price. My customers are impressed by the settings - in short - the perfect base to develop a business in Myanmar. Last but not least, Kandawggyi offers the best internet connection in town. If you use a Blackberry (like I do) you will be able to access all your emails like at home.

Location, location! The lakeside rooms are superb, with individual terraces and beautiful views over the lake and tropical gardens. The best swimming pool and views from it we've ever had in a city-centre hotel. Great rooms, friendly, kind, helpful service. Knocks the socks off awful tower-block hotels like Traders. Worth every penny, if you like unpretentious luxury at a reasonable price. Best place in Yangon!

We stayed at this hotel as part of the celebration of my son's wedding ceremony to a local young lady.
The hotel was top notch and we had a superb room on the ground floor overlooking the lake with a terrace which we could walk out on to - well worth paying the extra for this.
The room itself was very clean with all the usual facilities - what did stand out was the maid service as the room was cleand each day to an impeccable standard and in fact much better than many 5 star hotels I have previously stayed in.
Breakfast was buffet style with both European and Asian cuisine with omelettes and eggs cooked to order.
We have lunch many times in the sam restaurant where breakfast is served and food the food to be very good and not expensive - local beer is fine to drink.
Most evenings we ate in the lake view bar and restaurant and again the food was excelttent and the service very attentive - plates quicky cleared away when the meal finished and drinks offered when glasses empty - again very reasonably priced. Very limited choice of wine but what was on offer was palatable. Some live entertainment each evening.
We dined once in the Fusion rstaurant - very good fod and a better choice of wines although somewhat more expensive.
The hotel aranged for the wedding ceremony and we could not believe it when we saw the room. The hotel management had gone to exceptional lengths to make it fantastic and the food offered was also excellent. We could not fault it and for a mere USD600 including catering for 50 people was an absolute bargain.
I could not finish this review without making a special mention of the hotel manager and his staff. Everybody was extremely friendly, helpful, and they all went out of their way to make us welcome and to look after all our needs - something which we were overwhelmed by.
The manager even made a point of personally saying goodbye to us when it was time for us to leave.
If ever we have the chance to return to Yangon then we would not hesitate to stay here.

We love Myanmar and the Burmese people and have returned to the Kandawgyi time and time again on frequent trips to Yangon over the years. We agree with many of the previous comments on the charm of the architecture, convenient location and stupendous views overlooking the lake and the Schwedegon at night. I particularly love waking up at dawn to watch the silent parade of Yangon residents scurrying off to work on the bridge footpath along the lake. Breakfast on the patio overlooking the pool is a particular treat.
The staff at the Kandawgii have always been unfailingly helpful in every way and welcome us back like family with every visit. We highly recommend!!!
