Me and the Mrs stayed at the Summit Parkview for 4 nights on arrival in Yangon, and also on our final night before leaving the country.
Checking in and out was easy, and we were given a welcome cold drink.
We had room 520, which is along the wing that runs along the front of the hotel. The views were panoramic, overlooking People's Park, and the Pagoda to the right.
The room was large, clean, had a fridge, and there were a couple of bottles of water thrown in each day. There was also a kettle, with a couple of sachets of coffee and tea. If you don't like your coffee sweet then take your own. In fact take your own anyway for that extra brew! There's satellite TV.
The corridors are wide, bright, and carpeted.
The lobby area is a wonderful place to relax and unwind.
The restaurant is lovely. We only ate (buffet) breakfast there, but there was plenty of choice for any pallet, and the coffee kept coming.
The swimming pool is perfect, and the chances are if you use it during the day you'll more or less have it to yourself.
You can change money at the hotel in the Art Gallery. We got an excellent rate of slightly over 1,000 kyats to the $. We used $100 dollar notes only for money changing. Our notes were pristine and we had no trouble, however there a bloke in front of me who had money refused. Everything and everyone in the hotel were efficient.
The Pagoda is within easy walking distance.
Downtown is a couple of miles away. You'll pay between 1,500-2,500 kyats for a taxi. Most of the taxis have seen much better days, they are right-hand drive, and in Myanmar they drive on the right hand side of the road! If you hire a car and driver/guide for a couple of weeks, which we did, then it all adds to the Mynamar experience!
We ate out every evening, and found the restaurants near The Savoy to be perfectly adequate. Mentioning The Savoy, it's a lovely place, far too posh for us but we had to have a look round and have a drink there in The Captain's Bar, which is an excellent spot for a drink during their Happy Hour.

Overall we found the Summit Parkview an excellent choice.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights, upon arrival and prior to departure, which seems to be the most common reason to stay at Yangon. For this purpose I think the hotel is really good. Spacious clean room, good breakfast, courteous staff.

It is centrally located and with view of the Schwedagon pagoda in certain rooms. There is also a rooftop restaurant where you can have a cold beer and watch the sunset over the Pagoda. We even went up there to take night photo of the lit up pagoda.

All in all we are very happy with this hotel.

The hotel is situated close to the shwedagon pagoda just beyond the
main city centre. It's a modern international standard hotel, the
rooms are clean and those at the front have a view of the pagoda. However, we stayed twice and on our second visit we were at the back where you could hear some noise from the bar on the lower floors. Our room also had air
con and a fridge. There's a pool and a nice bar/ restaurant. The city
is quite spread out so it's necessary to use taxis to get to most
places, but these are arranged quickly via the concierge running into
the road and stopping one which is passing. In summary, a good
standard clean and well run hotel. Only downside is need to use taxis
but this is true of most Yangon hotels.

Third visit in as many years and three times better! The service is always genuine, from hotel staff who try, and succeed, most of the time. The reason I will come back again is the fact that the place is so "homely".
The room is comfortable without being over the top. Found the lighting in the bathroom to be on the dim side, and something has to be done to eliminate door slam, specially in the middle of the night.
Location is about right, not right in town, and not to far out. To walk out of the lobby and be greeted with the park view each morning, what more could you want?
I found all that I needed at the hotel, so didnt want for anything.
What I liked best about the Summit ? Its people
What I liked the least about the Summit? Going home and leaving all these people behind!

The room is a good size, only has a double bed, but has a desk with chair, minifridge, ample cupboard space, a good-sized bathroom with tub and shower (with a shower curtain), hot water and excellent pressure in the shower and sink, a small sitting area with 2 chairs and an end table, hairdryer, and the TV has CNN and 2 English movie channels. This may sound strange but the toilet is small and low to the ground (men will understand the problem this presents), as if it belongs in a primary school bathroom. There is no in-room safe, but they have individual safe boxes at reception. The carpeting and upholstery in the rooms are stained. Many of the rooms have incredible views of the beautiful Shwedagon paya (which is a 5-10 minute walk away) and they allow you to go to the roof (accompanied by security for safety reasons), to photograph it at night. The included buffet breakfast is good, though they do not have fresh orange juice, just some variation of Tang. The hotel has a pool, spa, exercise room, the typical business hotel shops, and a business centre – internet is $2/hr.

The Summit Parkview has a great location within walking distance or a $1.50 cab ride, to the Shwe Dagon Pagoda. The rooms are fairly average and carpeted floors are not that clean. However, the showers are the strongest we experienced in the country. Nice swimming pool and good restaurant.

The staff were extremely helpful; everything from reconfirming flights, to making sure we knew what time to leave the hotel for our international flights to providing a boxed breakfast to take with us early in the morning before the restaurant opened.

Television carried all international news channels including BBC, CNN and Al Jazeera. Good location at a reasonable price with very helpful staff.
