Day 2. Have breakfast at your hotel. Enjoy a full day excursion in the colonial city of Yangon culminating in a visit to the breathtaking Shwedagon Pagoda.

Day 3. After your breakfast, depart with your guide by air-conditioned car for the ‘tentative’ world heritage site of Bago. After exploring this interesting area continue to your hotel on the slopes of Mt Kyaiktiyo.

Day 4. We would recommend rising at dawn to experience the atmosphere of devotion at the Golden Rock balanced high on the mountain. It’s an unforgettable place. Continue late morning by car to the Karen capital of Hpa-An stopping at some ethnic villages en-route.

Day 5. A beautiful river journey awaits you today, down the Thanlwin River to Mawlamyine, formally known as Moulmein. Explore this interesting city, the capital of British Burma until 1852.

Day 6. A full day in the countryside of Mon State. First we visit the town of Setse, with its casuarina-lined beach. In the afternoon proceed onto Thanbyuzayat. This was the Western terminus of the infamous ‘Death Railway’ from Thailand built by prisoners of war. We can visit the memorial and WWII Cemetery before returning to Mawlamyine.

Day 7. Breakfast at your hotel followed by the drive back to Yangon. We can stop en-route at Taukkyan War Cemetery to pay respects to the 27,000 soldiers laid to rest here.

Day 8. Early morning transfer for your flight to Bagan. A transfer car will meet you on arrival to take you to your chosen hotel. Enjoy a full day tour of the archaeological zone with sunset from one of the tallest pagodas.

Day 9. Have breakfast at your hotel. Optional dawn champagne balloon ride over the pagodas of Bagan. Commence your second full day tour of Bagan, a ‘tentative’ world heritage site. Visit the 11th Century Shwezigon Pagoda and the beautiful Ananda Pagoda amongst others. Sunset photographs from a different pagoda.

Day 10. After breakfast today your air-conditioned car will bring you out of Bagan to the less-visited monasteries of Salay. Continue on to Mt Popa, the ‘Nat’ worship centre of Myanmar; the shrine atop a volcanic tower.

Day11. Relax today and watch the rural heartland of the ‘Dry Zone’ of central Myanmar slowly drift by on the Ayeyarwady River boat journey to Mandalay. We will pick you up and check you in to your hotel on arrival.

Day 12. After breakfast your car will deliver you to the bank of the mighty Ayeyarwady River for the boat ride to Mingun Pagoda. Explore the unfinished pagoda and continue to the gold-hammering workshops of Mandalay. Look around Shwenandaw Monastery and finish the day with sunset views from Mandalay Hill.

Day 13. Enjoy your breakfast then embark on a tour of the ancient cities area to the South of Mandalay. Continue in the afternoon onto Sagaing, the religious centre of Myanmar home to some 500 pagodas. Sunset photographs at the famous U Bein Bridge.

Day 14. After breakfast transfer to the airport for the flight to Heho. On arrival continue by car to spend the afternoon at the cave temples of Pindaya. Before dusk wind your way through the Shan Hills to your chosen hotel at Inle Lake.

Day 15. After breakfast set off for a full day exploration of the Inle Lake area. Photograph the Intha fishermen’s leg-rowing technique, wind through the floating gardens and explore the stilt villages, monasteries and revered Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda.

Day 16. Enjoy your breakfast and then meet your car for the transfer to the airport and the short flight to Ngapali Beach. A short and scenic transfer on arrival will bring you to your chosen hotel for an idyllic and relaxing beach stay.

Day 17 – 18. Kick back and relax on the beach after your tour of the highlights of Myanmar. Enjoy the renowned local seafood, maybe take in a round of Golf or visit the local teak-built town of Thandwe.

Day 19. A final day of relaxation before your afternoon flight to Yangon. We’ll pick you up on arrival and transfer you to your hotel in the city.
