Your representative will meet you at the airport and escort you to your transfer car. Check in to your chosen hotel. If you have arrived on a morning flight embark on your half day orientation tour of Yangon.
Day 2. Have breakfast at your hotel. Enjoy a full day excursion in the colonial city of Yangon culminating in a visit to the breathtaking Shwedagon Pagoda.
Day 3. An early start today to get to the airport for your flight to Putao, the northernmost town in Myanmar. Transfer to your comfortable accommodation and spend the afternoon walking around this quiet valley town.
Day 4. Your adventure to one of the most sparsely populated areas of Asia starts here! Board your jeep for the trip to Machanbaw, the first leg of our adventure trek to the remote village of Nomung. We trek from here for 6 hours over suspension bridges and past waterfalls to the village of Alangga. Overnight in a village home.
Day 5. A challenging trek today takes you steeply up the side of a gorge into the hills. You will notice the temperature drop as you gain altitude. Overnight in a private home in the village of Htangga.
Day 6. A valley trek today through forest and creeks to the village of Uringga.
Day 7. Today we trek through pristine forest alive with flora and fauna to the confluence of two creeks, and Babaw village.
Day 8. Another six hours remote trekking today takes us along Gasang Creek and onto the village of Kwinmaling.
Day 9. Today we trek to the main village in this area, Nomung. This is an easy day with only 3 hours trekking through local plantations.
Day 10. We take to a mule trail today and cross the suspension bridge over Kasankha stream. Our target today is the village of Maza.
Day 11. Today we trek towards the shoulder of Babulonhtan peak before descending to 350 metres. We camp tonight in the area of Namti.
Day 12. Follow the mule trail to the suspension bridge at Htikha creek and onwards through undulating country to Namsabum, a Lisu hill-tribe village where we spend the night.
Day 13. Trek through paddy fields to Salundum on the beautiful Malikha River. A boat will be waiting to ferry you across to your jeep for the journey back to Putao.
Day 14. Say goodbye to this hidden and unspoilt corner of the world and fly to Mandalay. Check into your hotel for a well earned rest.
Day 16. After breakfast transfer to the airport for the short flight to Bagan. A transfer car will meet you on arrival to take you to your chosen hotel. Enjoy a full day tour of the archaeological zone with sunset from one of the tallest pagodas.
Day 17. Have breakfast at your hotel. Optional dawn champagne balloon ride over the pagodas of Bagan. Commence your second full day tour of Bagan, a ‘tentative’ world heritage site. Sunset photographs from a different pagoda.
Day 18. After breakfast today your air-conditioned car will bring you out of Bagan to the less-visited monasteries of Salay. Continue on to Mt Popa, the ‘Nat’ worship centre of Myanmar; the shrine atop a volcanic tower.
Day 19. After your breakfast transfer to the airport for the short flight to Heho. On arrival your car will meet you for the scenic drive to Inle Lake. In the afternoon take to the water for a tour of this beautiful area, home of the Intha people.
Day 20. After breakfast board your boat for a trip across the lake, passing the leg-rowing fishermen to an ethnic 5-day market. Continue onto the ‘floating’ village and market of Ywama. Explore the stilted villages and floating gardens before crossing the lake to Nyaungshwe town. Drive to Heho for your afternoon flight to Yangon. Transfer on arrival to your chosen hotel.
Day 21. Depart from Yangon Airport.
Have breakfast at your hotel. There may be time for a little last-minute shopping at Scott Market before your transfer back to the airport for your onward flight. If you are departing on an evening flight we can arrange another excursion for today.
